Turn your Apple Watch on and off

Turn on: Press the side button on your off-screen Apple Watch until the Apple logo displays (a brief black screen may occur initially).

 Turning on the Apple Watch causes the watch face to appear.

switch off: If you need to switch off your Apple Watch, press and hold the side button until the sliders display. Then, tap the Power button in the upper right corner, and drag the Power Off slider to the right. Normally, you would leave your Apple Watch on all the time.


 To view the time when your Apple Watch is off, press and hold the Digital Crown.


The Apple Watch cannot be turned off while it is charging.  Disconnect your Apple Watch from the charger before turning it off.


Keep your watch face visible

When your wrist is down, your Apple Watch may still show the time and watch face thanks to Always On. The Apple Watch is completely functional when you elevate your wrist.

Note: When your Apple Watch is in Low Power Mode, Always On is not accessible. Tap the screen to reveal the watch face.


Apple Watch SE does not support Always On.

Navigate to the Apple Watch's Settings app.

After selecting Display & Brightness, select Always On.

To setup Always On, turn it on and then tap the choices below:

Select the complications that display information when your wrist is down.

Select which notifications are displayed when your wrist is down by selecting Show Notifications.

Show Apps: Select which apps appear when your wrist is down.


Go to the Settings app, select Display & Brightness, select Wake Duration, and then select Wake for 70 Seconds to prolong the display's duration when you tap to wake your Apple Watch.
